Our beautiful Scooby is still searching for his forever home—and heartbreakingly, he has not received a single application.

We cannot understand why nobody has chosen this affectionate, wonderfully goofy boy. Scooby has so much love to give and would absolutely adore finally finding a family to call his own.

At only one year old, Scooby is a Great Dane mix with an enormous personality, an enthusiastic tail and a heart overflowing with love. He has absolutely no understanding of personal space—once he loves you, he will happily become your very large and loyal shadow!

Scooby adores playing with his foster brother, Teddy, and would love a home with a friendly, playful dog to keep him company and help build his confidence. He has also spent time with a tiny dog and was absolutely fine.

Although he becomes very excited when he sees other dogs on walks, it is simply because he desperately wants to play. Asking him to sit and giving him a moment to settle works beautifully.

Scooby’s ideal home will offer:

Sweet by name and sweet by nature, Toffee is a playful, affectionate puppy who’s ready to find a family to grow up with!

Her mornings begin with a very important ritual: an enthusiastic tail wag, a roll onto her back and a request for belly rubs! Once those are delivered, she’s ready to seize the day—playing with her toys, exploring the garden with you and soaking up all the love and attention she can get.

Toffee has plenty of puppy energy and is still learning her manners, so she needs a patient family committed to ongoing training. She’s already making lovely progress:

Learning “place” to go to her bed

Working on “stay”—although she currently thinks it’s negotiable!

Meet Darwin, affectionately known as Jimmy! This big, strong boy is a friendly goofball with a beautiful nature. He loves a cuddle, enjoys playing with other dogs and is still very much a puppy at heart. He’s also content spending time in his own company.

Jimmy is learning his manners and has started practising sit, stay, come, “stop it” and “drop that”. His recall and lead walking are improving too. A whistle or clicker is great for getting his attention, although sometimes you can almost see him deciding whether coming back is worth it! He’ll need a family happy to keep practising with him, and he should remain on lead when out and about.

Although Jimmy is friendly, he can be timid around overly enthusiastic strangers, particularly children, and sudden loud noises can startle him. An active home with older teenagers who can give him space to build confidence would suit him best.

Our beautiful Periwinkle has settled in with a new foster carer, and we’re so grateful she has a place to call home while she waits. But it breaks our hearts that she’s had no adoption applications or interest at all. We’re honestly unsure why.

She’s only one year old. She’s sweet, affectionate and clever. She’s friendly with dogs, cats and children. Yet somehow, this lovely girl keeps being passed by.

Periwinkle deserves the chance to unpack her things for the last time. She deserves people who will call her their own, celebrate every little bit of progress and be there when she curls up after a day of adventures. Could you be those people?

She loves being involved in family life, whether that means playing fetch, heading out for an adventure or settling in for cuddles. She’s eager to learn and already knows sit, stay, come and fetch. She’s currently working on “shake hands” too!

New things can make her a little unsure, so she needs a family who will give her patience and reassurance as she builds confidence. She’s already made lovely progress around things that used to frighten her, including prams and statue dogs. Baths, however, are still under review.

MEET SHADOW

2-year-old Jack Russell x Staffy mix

Shadow is a gorgeous little character who has been showing us just how much potential he has.

At only 2 years old, he’s an active, clever boy who absolutely loves his walks and is more than capable of keeping up on longer adventures. He’s been lovely when encountering other dogs and people while out and about, and his recall is coming along beautifully.

Shadow is also one smart cookie! He’s mastered the doggy door and has worked out exactly how to roll his treat ball around to make the goodies appear.

In the home, Shadow has been a very good boy. He hasn’t been destructive and has made fantastic progress with his crate training. What started with some reluctance has turned into Shadow happily taking himself into his crate at bedtime.

Most of all, Shadow loves his person. He forms a strong bond and absolutely adores being close to the humans he trusts.

We do believe Shadow may have had some difficult experiences before coming into care. Occasionally, if corrected—even with a simple “no”—he can cower as though he expects something frightening to happen. He can also be a little unsure around men initially and may bark when he feels uncertain. He is learning that he is safe and that humans can be kind.

Shadow can experience some mild separation anxiety and may scratch at a gate when his person leaves. He can also still be a little mouthy/nippy at times, something his foster family is actively working on.

What Shadow needs now is a patient, loving home that will continue building his confidence with calm, positive guidance and give him the security he deserves.

Underneath those few uncertainties is a clever, affectionate, adventurous and genuinely lovely little dog who has already come such a long way.

Shadow is ready for someone to show him that home really can mean forever.
