Duqqa is as charming as he is massive. This lovable lug is a big friendly giant through and through – all heart and wrinkles. Duqqa is a "goofball deluxe" who adores belly rubs, couch cuddles, and romping around like an overgrown puppy. He gets along great with other dogs and loves a good rumble and tumble play session. He’ll have you laughing one minute and melting into his warm snuggles the next. But don’t let the soft side fool you – Duqqa is a true guardian breed at heart. He’s naturally protective and not keen on strangers, so he needs an owner who understands big dogs and the instincts that come with them. He’s not a fan of cats and would do best in a home where he can be the king of his castle without small animals around.

Introducing the sweetest, cheekiest one-eyebrowed boy, Tarte. Tarte was found as a stray and has spent the last month learning to accept love from young children, adults, and other dogs. He is cheeky, loves cuddles, kids and playing chasey with anything he can find. He loves his walks and needs time to sniff. Tug of war and stimulating toys are his favourite. Tarte can be apprehensive of other dogs and would prefer a cat-free home. He feels an overwhelming need to protect himself and his people, and can be a little bit jumpy when he hears strange noises. Toilet training is coming along well. His ideal home would be a family with older children (jumpy and bitey) as he is still a puppy, or an adult household where he can soak up all the love.

Alejandro is a shy boy, but once he trusts you, he’s as loyal as they come! He’s an active pup and enjoys running off leash through the woodland, but in the evenings, he’s all about snuggling up on the couch with his humans - he’s very affectionate. His recall is fantastic, and he walks well on a lead when needed, although, being a working dog, off leash is his favourite. Alejandro loves other dogs and MUST go to a home with another friendly dog. His other main need is loving, active humans who will be patient with his nerves. He also gets along well with his foster cat friend. MPDRI will not accept applications without another friendly active dog. Introducing the stunning Almirante, who pulls at our heartstrings. She is a special girl with a very sensitive, emotional personality. She won’t tolerate an assertive, very dominant family. She will shut down in fear. This girl must go to a home with at least one other friendly, active dog. She relies heavily on dogs for support. She is particularly animal-friendly, including livestock. She requires a patient, gentle family who will understand when she becomes overwhelmed or confused, and can communicate their wishes to her in a gentle, calm manner. We do not recommend her with young children. Almirante is a smart girl and picks up training super fast. She is very dog-friendly and appears to blend in with multiple dog households seamlessly.

If you're looking for a gentle, fun soul wrapped in a silky-soft coat, then meet Armani. A gentle, slightly timid, sweet-natured boy, he is as cuddly as they come. He’ll happily curl up beside you after a good walk or settle in for a peaceful night’s sleep. Armani walks well on the lead. He listens well and is eager to learn, always up for pleasing his humans. While a little shy around new doggy friends at first, he’s incredibly social at heart and would thrive with a friendly playmate. He could live in a home with a dog-savvy cat with slow introductions. He’s not much of a barker and is happy spending his time both inside and outside. His favourite pastimes include chewing on toys, carrying around a cushion or shoe (but drops them on command) and lots of cuddles.

Gucci greets every creature, human, canine, feline or feathered, with open-hearted enthusiasm. Little kids? He adores them. Older folks? He’s sweet as pie. Small dogs? He bows to their level. Even grumpy dogs are met with calm respect. His biggest motivator is YOU. He leans in for pats, but never demands. No jumping, barking, or licking. Gucci enjoys two long walks a day but is equally satisfied with training and play. His future home includes someone who’s around more often or another doggy friend. He ignores reactive dogs, navigates new environments fearlessly, and prefers the backseat with his nose to the breeze. Gucci is ready to bring heart and hilarity to his forever or forever foster home.
